The establishment of a governance team is a big step forward towards a new medical facility for Whitianga says local Coromandel MP Scott Simpson.
“I’m thrilled that we now have a great group of people leading the Trust that will set up a new medical centre. There’s been a lot of discussion about just what sort of entity or body should lead this project through to fruition. Having trustees in place is a crucial development.
“A new Whitianga medical centre will be a much needed asset for our fast growing community” he said.
“I congratulate new Trustees Alison Henry, Kevin Pringle, Jim Scott, Murray McLean and Merv George on their efforts towards developing a business case for the centre” said Mr Simpson.
“Of course, there is still a long way to go yet in developing detailed plans, but the draft concept looks exciting and I look forward to giving continued support and hearing updates on what will become a wonderful community facility” said Mr Simpson.
