Parliament’s Governance and Administration select committee will travel to Thames to hear submissions on the Mangrove Management Bill being sponsored by Coromandel MP Scott Simpson.
“I’m pleased the committee has accepted my invitation to visit Thames to hear from submitters directly and in person.”
The committee will sit in Thames on Friday, 16 March 2018.
“This is an important local initiative aimed at resolving the issue of mangrove management by allowing Thames Coromandel and Hauraki District Councils to formulate their own management plans without involving the Waikato Regional Council.
“I’m very pleased MP’s will make the trip to Thames to hear from locals” said Scott Simpson.
Submissions on the bill close at 5pm tomorrow (Friday, 23 February 2018).
