Coromandel Youth MP Selected

Local MP Scott Simpson has selected    Year 12 Thames High School student Veronica Manning  as the Coromandel  representative for  Youth Parliament 2016.
 
“Veronica is a young woman with a passion for Coromandel.  She understands the issues confronting us and is in touch with her generation” said Mr Simpson.

“Applicants for the role presented a speech to a selection panel. I was impressed with the high quality of applications I received and overwhelmed how passionate young people are to represent their community at Youth Parliament 2016” said Mr Simpson
 
“It is also a key opportunity for me as the Member of Parliament for Coromandel to learn more about the important issues affecting our young people today as well as their aspirations and ideas for moving our nation forward”.
 
Veronica Manning will hold the title of Youth MP for Coromandel from 25 January to 25 July 2016.  During this time, she will actively engage with the community to gain an understanding of the ideas and concerns of youth in our area.

“ I am really honoured  to have been chosen as  the Coromandel  Youth MP and I am looking forward to be an effective representative” said Veronica Manning.
